Secondary Characteristic Classes and Cyclic Cohomology of Hopf Algebras.

Abstract: In his paper on the transverse fundamental class A. Connes gave a construction of Godbillon-Vey cocycle arising from the action of the group of modular automorphisms. I will describe how to extend this construction to the case of other Gelfand-Fuchs classes. The role of the group of modular automorphisms is now played by a certain Hopf algebra.
